How Does RF Skin Resurfacing Work?
After you get comfortable in our treatment chair, our provider will place the Venus Viva handpiece over your skin to directly target RF in certain areas for improvement. Numbing creams are used to make the treatment comfortable. The RF technology will remove damaged and dead skin cells and prompt collagen levels to produce. After your treatment, your skin may feel like it has a sunburn, but it's only for a short period of time. Venus Viva's RF skin resurfacing system is safe for all skin tones with minimal downtime. What to Expect From RF Skin Resurfacing
Venus Viva’s RF skin resurfacing treatments may feel slightly uncomfortable but not terribly painful. The heat energy from the device may look and feel like a sensation similar to a sunburn but it should subside within a few hours to a day. We recommend avoiding aggressive skin care products for at least a week. You may experience itchy skin or notice small pin-point crusts on the treated area but do not scratch or pick at the treatment area to avoid scarring the sensitive tissue. Peeling skin will naturally exfoliate but can be camouflaged with makeup. Some patients see instant results after the initial treatment, but on average, RF skin resurfacing takes 3 – 6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results.

How do I prepare for RF skin resurfacing treatment?
Make sure your skin is clean when you arrive for your appointment. Before your session, do not apply perfumes, makeup, powders, creams, lotions, or tanning products. Remove any hair around the treatment area. Lead aesthetician and laser professional Samina Wasifuddin will be asking you about your medical history during your first consultation so come prepared with information.
How many sessions and how often will I need RF skin resurfacing treatment before I see results?
For best results, the Hidden Oasis Med Spa team typically recommends 3 - 4 skin resurfacing treatments per area spaced 4 – 6 weeks apart. After your final treatment, your skin will continue to improve. Depending on your outcomes and goals, a touch-up session may be necessary every six months.
Is there any downtime with RF skin resurfacing? What will I need to do after the treatment?
Lasting up to 30 minutes, this treatment has little downtime. Your skin may be red and feel warm, like a sunburn. You can return to your daily skin care routine in 24 hours, but some patients may experience more downtime for 2 – 5 days. Always follow the post-care instructions our Hidden Oasis Med Spa team will share with you after your treatments.
What does RF skin resurfacing treatment feel like? Is it painful?
Patients who receive RF skin resurfacing treatment describe the treatment sensation as slightly uncomfortable but not painful. You will slightly feel tiny pins on the skin followed by a little zap. After the treatment, your skin may be red and feel warm like a sunburn.
